Working with my hands has always brought me joy. There’s a sense of creation and learning when you’re building something, seeing how it all works, fixing it, and hopefully putting it back together. I may have watched too much MacGyver as a kid. Web development/programming allows me the same opportunities to be creative, tinker, deconstruct and build it back better.
What started out as creating a website for a family member’s business has evolved into a twenty-year career of helping small business, non-profits and higher education institutions reach their audiences, get their message out there, and help change lives.
Currently I work at the University of Central Florida, for the College of Sciences, running the entire department. The College of Sciences is the largest college within the University with over twelve departments, schools, centers and institutes and hundreds of faculty and lab websites. The university primarily uses WordPress as a content management system. Currently I manage thirteen separate WordPress multisite installs with a total of 260+ websites, 700+ users, and 200+ Active Directory groups.
I’m skilled in PHP, MySQL, WordPress theme and plugin development, WordPress Multisite (250+ sites), Adobe Photoshop, CSS3, HTML, JavaScript, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Google Analytics and much more. I’m a strong engineering professional with great interpersonal skills, problem solving skills, and adaptability.
