Working with my hands has always brought me joy. There’s a sense of exploration and learning when you’re creating something, seeing how it all works, fixing it, and hopefully putting it back together. In this digital world programming is this physical analog for me. Being a developer allows me the same opportunities to creatively build, tinker using dev tools, deconstruct and build it back better.
What started out as creating a website for my sister’s business has evolved into a twenty year career of helping small business owners, non-profits and higher education institutions reach their audiences, get their message out there, and help change lives.
Currently I work at the University of Central Florida, for the College of Sciences and run the entire web department. The College of Sciences is the largest college within the University with over twelve departments, schools, centers and institutes. The university primarily uses WordPress as a content management system. Currently I manage thirteen separate WordPress multisite installs with a total of 260+ websites and 600+ users.
I’m skilled in PHP, MySQL, WordPress theme and plugin development, WordPress Multisite (250+ sites), Adobe Photoshop, CSS3, HTML, JavaScript, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Google Analytics and much more. I’m a strong engineering professional with great interpersonal skills, problem solving skills, and adaptability.
